Homeland security training in South Africa encompasses crucial elements, including the legal considerations governing the use of firearms in self-defense scenarios, firearm safety protocols, loading and unloading procedures, and the fundamentals of shooting. Over the course, participants will discharge approximately 25 rounds of ammunition. The entry requirement for this training is a foundational understanding of Unit Standard 117705, which pertains to knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000. Notably, this course is a mandatory legal prerequisite for first-time firearm owners. Furthermore, the Basic Self-Loading Rifle course aligns with Unit Standard 119650, specifically focusing on the proper handling and use of self-loading rifles or carbines.
